Lower Brule is the headquarters community of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe (Kul Wicasa Oyate, Lakota) in Lyman County, South Dakota on the west bank of the Missouri River and Lake Sharpe. Its economy is anchored by tribal government and programs, the Golden Buffalo Casino, agriculture and ranching enterprises, and the small businesses, both tribal and non-tribal, serving the reservation community.
