Wakpala is a Lakota and Dakota community in eastern Corson County, South Dakota on the Standing Rock Reservation, near the Grand River and the Missouri River, home to a tribal community and the Smee/Wakpala school. Its life centers on the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's community and programs, education, ranching, and the families and small organizations serving the area.
